Life at Rutgers

Diversity screams throughout the campuses of Rutgers University.  Each campus holds a unique  personalities that contribute to the life of Rutgers.  Freshmen need to engage themselves with positive people that will allow them to take advantage of all the opportunities Rutgers has to offer.  Traveling through my collage (from top left corner to the right) you will notice key aspects that will allow students to have a great college experience.  The Rutgers buses, although very hectic and crowded, get students from one place to another safely and allow students to explore the campuses.  It is also very important to get to class on time and plan according in order to not miss buses.  The next picture indicates the importance of getting to know your professors  and asking for help at any time.  Tutors are also very important to ensure that students understand the material being taught and can expand their horizons of knowledge.  Graduation is one of the most important pictures in this collage because it should always be in the back of everyone's mind because the decisions made through out college will reflect during graduation.  More important than a diploma is the feeling that is present during graduation as you look back at all the wonderful things you have accomplished.  You have to do more than just survive in college in order to thrive and reach your dreams and aspirations.   Rutgers prides itself in their sports and it is the greatest feeling of school spirit to attend any sporting event.  The Rutgers community is very welcoming and although we are all diverse, we  come together to showcase our love for Rutgers.  The next picture is of the Annual Dance Marathon held at the College Avenue Gym, which is a great way to get involved and meet great people from many different clubs and organizations that are there to make a difference.  I included a picture of a bakesale I was apart of with the girls from my W.I.L.D Interest Group.  Rutgers allows organizations to fundraise, which is a great experience.  My interest group was also apart of a community service event at the Hillside Food Bank that allowed us to give back to the community.  It was an amazing experience to be able to help out the elderly by packing boxes with essential foods and necessities.  The following picture is very important for first years because a map will make sure they find their classes and help them navigate throughout the campuses.  Rutgers also gives students the opportunity to study abroad and visit places that not even dreams can explain.  You can also take classes in the areas of your interest and travel at your leisure.  The last picture on my collage is a dancer giving it her all, which is exactly what every student in Rutgers should be doing with whatever their passions are.  College is only once in a lifetime and you should take chances that will better you and allow you to explore life with the positive people that surround you.
